Quick answer

Quick answer: Lymph is the fluid that pools in your face, belly and legs when you're still; it has no pump, so it moves when you breathe, move and stretch the skin toward the lymph nodes. A 5-minute daily routine done in the right order, collarbones first, reduces morning puffiness, evening bloat and heavy legs the same day. Tell us your zones and your mornings, and we'll build the routine, with follow-along videos and reminders.

Build my lymph plan

Build my lymph plan → 2 minutes. Zone(s): face / stomach / legs / whole body. What bothers you most in the morning. When it's worst. What you've tried. Minutes you have. Sensitive skin? Goal in 30 days.

What a lymph plan is

Not a detox, not a cleanse, not a supplement. A short routine assembled from four tools, in an order that works:

  1. Breathing. Five slow belly breaths. The diaphragm is your biggest lymph pump.
  2. Opening the drains. Gentle pumps above the collarbones, in the armpits and groin creases, so fluid has somewhere to go.
  3. Zone work. Light strokes toward the nodes: face in the morning, stomach after a bloated day, legs after standing or sitting for hours.
  4. Movement. A 20-minute lymphatic walk, 5 minutes of rebounding, or the 10-minute exercise routine.

Your plan picks the pieces that match your zones and the minutes you actually have (3, 5 or 10), and schedules them morning or evening.

The correct order for lymphatic drainage

Collarbones → neck → armpits → chest and arms → belly → groin → legs. Always from the exit inward, then each zone toward its exit. Face drains down the neck to the collarbones; arms to the armpits; legs to the groin. Skipping the collarbones is the most common reason people feel nothing. The full sequence is in Lymphatic drainage at home.

What you'll notice

Within minutes: a lighter feeling, a softer jaw or belly, the urge to pee. Same day: less puffiness where you worked. Over one to two weeks of daily practice: fewer puffy mornings and bloated evenings, because you're clearing fluid before it accumulates. Nothing permanent changes in your anatomy; what changes is your baseline. Honest details in before and after and what the science supports.

Signs you need one

Puffy face and under-eye bags in the morning. A belly that's flat at breakfast and tight by dinner. Heavy legs, sock lines and tight rings by evening. Worse the week before your period, after flights, after salty or late dinners. If that's you, the routine will likely help. If swelling is persistent, one-sided, painful or new, that's a clinician's job first; see signs and red flags.

Tools, if you want them

Hands are enough. Gua sha, a soft face brush, a dry body brush, a rebounder or a vibration plate can add consistency or a bit more pumping. We compare them honestly in dry brushing, vibration plates and lymphatic drainage tools. No drops, teas or "lymph supplements" have evidence.

Why this and not an app store app

There are several lymphatic drainage apps with subscriptions; most are collections of face-massage videos. A lymph plan starts with your zones and your schedule, includes the body (stomach, legs, walking), and tells you the order and pressure that make it work. We review the apps in best lymphatic drainage apps, and we'll be honest about where they're good.

FAQ

What is the correct order for lymphatic drainage?

Open the collarbones first, then neck, armpits, arms and chest, belly, groin, legs. Each zone toward its nearest nodes.

What are the six lymphatic drainage points?

Above the collarbones, sides of the neck, armpits, abdomen, groin creases, and behind the knees. "Opening" them means gentle pumping before working the zone.

What's a good exercise routine for lymphatic drainage?

Belly breathing, shoulder rolls, arm pumps, seated march, ankle pumps, legs up the wall. Ten minutes; see exercises.

What helps flush out your lymphatic system?

Breathing, movement and light massage toward the nodes. Water helps; no food or drink "flushes" lymph.

What are the worst foods for lymph?

There's no lymph-specific list. Very salty and processed food and alcohol increase fluid retention.

Is lymphatic drainage safe every day?

Yes for healthy people when done lightly. Skip it with infections, clots, or unexplained swelling, and get guidance if you have heart, kidney or liver conditions or lymphedema.
